As an artist Jim Dine incorporates images of everyday objects into his artworks, but he moves away from the impersonal nature of pop art by making works that fuse personal passions and every day experiences. His repeated use of familiar and personally significant objects, such as a robe, hands, tools, and hearts in a signature of some of his amazing works. I like how he can take an object that is so simple and boring that most people would just look past and forget about and draw it and make it beautiful. I have learned a lot from studying Dine.
One thing that I learned was it takes a lot of time to take a picture and try and make it look realistic. He has inspired me to make more realistic drawings in my art career. My opinion on him is that his guy is truly amazing because it takes a ton of patience to make drawings like his works. I plan to continue studying more of his style and incorporating it more into mine.
I don’t think that Jim Dine has been in a movement yet, however he was trying to get away from one. He was trying to do something different from pop art because everyone was doing that style of art at the time. He wanted to be different and stand out.
